Devaalayam is the cornerstone of the Indian culture as also the backbone of Vasudaive kutumbam (the whole universe is one family)
In India a 1000 years ago temples would have been the center of our communities. Families used to visit temples together, offer prayers, offer fruits and flowers and do abhsihekams, light agarbattis and diyas and partake in the prasadams. This time spent in such sanctified atmosphere would bring calmness and spiritual rejuvenation to all present. The compromisiation of our culture due to being at the receiving end of unending invasions and conquerors from all parts of the globe, an extreme westernisation and compromisation of our education system, the extremities of the caste system what has resulted is a total degradation and disappearance of our cultural heritage. Indians over the past 500 years have drifted away from their culture and traditions. Temples were the center of all activities in our villages and neighborhoods. Due to the lack of proper knowledge about the value of our Temples, due to migration of our youth to cities our temples were left to deteriorate. In our cities nobody has the time for temples as their offices became their modern day temples.
We call upon all global citizens who have one way or another benefited from India and her spiritual history of yoga, meditation & worship, to help support the administration and refurbishment of temples across India. This strengthening of temples all across India, is in turn strengthening the God vibration, strengthening peace, helping calm minds and once again start bringing back our local populations to an eco system that is bathed and rejoices in the vibration of yagnas filled with ghee and camphor and mantras.
